Using the Whole Animal Workshop with TwoWolves.org
Overview:
The Using the Whole Animal is a workshop designed to take you through the process of actually harvesting an animal all the way to the individual end products that can be made from that animal’s different parts. Though a medium sized mammal (such as Goat) is used at the workshop, the principles are applicable to almost any animal.
You will learn to prioritize different items, process them from the carcass into usable raw materials, and then further process those into end products. We will focus on some of the more general categories and simpler crafts, such as primitive cooking, food preservation, hide tanning, bone tools, glue making, cordage, and others.
Beyond the individual skills learned, deeper lessons will be experienced such as the importance of preparation, the amount of work done before an animal is even harvested and the crucial role a “tribe” plays in the whole process.
The ultimate goal of the workshop is to give you a better understanding of just what it takes to really Use the Whole Animal, and to open the door to a whole world of possibilities, by touching on only a few that are possible within the time we have.
