WGT1: Backyard Bounty: An Introduction to the Wonders of Weeds

May 17th, 9am to 1pm, with 1:30 pm optional afternoon “herb wander”,         Siloam Springs, AR

Have your neighbors started firing up their lawn mowers? Don’t be so quick to mow those beautiful spring plants! Many common “weeds” of our backyards and wild spaces are edible or have medicinal qualities. Join us for a discovery of the plants under our feet that can feed and heal us, and also benefit wildlife.

Learn techniques to identify common wild plants and plant families, dispel misconceptions about common plants and learn what plants may be hazardous, and have fun connecting with the green world around you!

After lunch, we will have a “herb wander” for anyone wanting to discover more plants!
